Early business conversations move faster when people share openly, but not everything should be shared at once. Financials, customer lists, technical details and deal terms deserve more care than a company overview.
Begin with material you would be comfortable seeing passed on: what you do, who you serve and what you are looking for. As interest grows, agree explicitly what will be shared next, with whom and for what purpose. For sensitive material, a simple confidentiality agreement sets expectations on both sides.
The same applies within a members’ network. Share documents with members when they are meant to be seen, keep others private, and remember that a contact’s details are theirs to share. Clear habits build the trust a network depends on.
